Hello fellow Archers! I knew God was calling me to the teaching vocation at a very young age. I attended St. Rose myself from 3rd to 8th grade. Mrs. Debbie Groves, who was a 3rd/4th grade teacher at St. Rose for many many years, lit my love for teaching on fire. Upon graduation from IPFW, I was blessed with a few long term substitutions at Monroeville Elementary for kindergarten and Speech/Language Pathology and New Haven High School for English. From there, I began my first teaching experience as classroom teacher at Imagine on Broadway for 4 years. In 2013, God led me to Saint Aloysius. I was blessed to teach third through eighth grade students in reading, writing, and science for 5 years. Then, God led me back to my alma mater in 2018, where I have taught junior high literature, grammar and writing, science, and religion.
My husband, Jason and I were blessed to start our family in 2017. Ella Grace was born in 2017, and Michael Joseph was born in 2019. Nathan Daniel was born in 2020. Ella, Michael, and Nathan have been the lights of our lives. With being a wife and mother, I continue to volunteer at school in as many ways as I can. Outside of school, I am a part of a young adults group, high school youth ministry group, and extraordinary ministry at St. Charles, which is close to our home. Knowing that life would be full of motherhood experiences, I spend much of my summer preparing lessons and reading student novels for the year; but lesson plans are continuously adapting to meet the needs of the students. Throughout the year, I may need to slow down, speed up, or alter the lesson’s content based on the students’ academic need.

We pray to begin each class period. Students state pray intentions and lead memorized prayers. We also read and discuss the Bible. We pray the Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy. I facilitate candidates throughout the year in Confirmation preparation. We focus the entire year on growing spiritually, reflecting, praying, learning about the saints, and conducting act of service.
Preparing students for the Sacrament of Confirmation is a true honor. I thank the parents for entrusting me as I catechize your children to bring them in closer relationship with God. I spend much of my time preparing for theology class with seventh grade during their Theology of the Body curriculum and finding ways to guide students throughout their eighth grade in Confirmation preparation theology class.
I have such a love for teaching. Our students, staff, and parents make this vocation such a blessing. I thank God every day for leading me to Saint Rose so that I may educate “each child spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and physically to help them attain academic excellence and the ultimate eternal reward of Heaven” and be a part of “building saints and academic excellence.”
